Mission
The mission of the Mankato Clinic Foundation is to encourage and support the health and wellbeing of our community through initiatives that promote and improve community wellness. Annual initiatives made possible by the Mankato Clinic Foundation include community grants, scholarships for students pursuing careers in health, and Project Kindness in Greater Mankato schools.
Celebrating Kindness
The Mankato Clinic is not only committed to our community’s physical health, but also our community’s overall health and spirit. We know that all it takes is a simple smile, a cheerful wave or a helping hand to show how much we care for one another. To help make kindness a part of our daily lives, the Mankato Clinic Foundation has partnered with the Mankato Area Schools and schools throughout our region to sponsor the annual Celebrate Kindness project.
Working together, the Foundation and regional schools are educating our communities on the importance of kindness to create healthy living. We’ve implemented kindness lessons and projects within the education curriculum for student’s pre-school through high school. The overall goal is that a little piece of the project will stay with the students and the community for the rest of our lives. Every year, we will honor acts of kindness, recognizing students for their selflessness, compassion and caring. It’s easy to be a part of the Celebrate Kindness project—send a sincere smile, wave or helping hand to your neighbors.
Making A Difference
Medical Scholarship Program
Amid growing national concern that the country’s best medical students will find education costs overwhelming, the Mankato Clinic Foundation is continuing its commitment to support scholarships to attract medical students pursuing careers in medicine. We know that when people are recovering from illness or injury, they want the “best of the best” taking care of them. To help ensure that our brightest students enter the healthcare field, the Foundation’s scholarship program provides financial resources to healthcare students at both the high school and college level based on student merit and financial need.
Supporting Health Education Awareness Programs
To help fulfill our health care mission, the Mankato Clinic Foundation provided funding for the following initiatives:
Community projects focused on improving the quality of life in southern Minnesota with partners such as the American Cancer Society, March of Dimes and American Heart Association
Sponsoring health care programs at area schools
Sponsoring the Celebrate Kindness project, in partnership with the regional schools, to encourage students to do kind acts and recognize kind acts
Helping To Build A Healthier Tomorrow
The mission of the Mankato Clinic Foundation is to encourage and support the health and well-being of our community through health initiatives that promote and improve community wellness.
Community Well Being A small, dedicated group of physicians started the Mankato Clinic Foundation in 1965, making it one of the oldest foundations in Minnesota. Since that time the Foundation has expanded its reach by offering educational health-related programs to the community and supporting community health events.
Philanthropy plays a major role in the daily life of the Mankato Clinic. As the Clinic strives to enhance the health of adults and children throughout southern Minnesota, the Foundation is involved in a wide array of activities to raise philanthropic dollars. The Foundation continues to provide funds for medical scholarships and community health care initiatives that raise the awareness of living a healthy life.
